Dr Gerard Panting

MA, MB BS, FFFLM, FRCGP, DMJ

Gerard has an international reputation as an effective and engaging communicator, whether addressing large audiences at major conferences, running workshops for smaller groups or helping organisations to plan their own communications strategies. He has designed, developed and delivered programmes focusing on specific issues and is a regular contributor to a wide range of healthcare related publications.

Gerard spent the first eleven years of his career in clinical practice where he developed his enthusiasm for teaching. He then joined the Medical Protection Society (MPS) and over a 19 year period held a number of roles including: Medico-legal Adviser, Head of UK Medical Services and finally Communications and Policy Director before leaving MPS in 2006 to devote his energies full time to TWG.

In addition to his primary medical qualifications, Gerard is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, holds a MA in Medical Ethics and Law and is a Foundation Fellow of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians.
